Karen this was all too close-to-home for me. We recently got my son a puppy– a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. AKA: little horse. He is a huge bundle of chewing, biting, romping, puppy. Fortunately, in addition to the bones and rawhides, he also will chew ice cubes and carrots. Ice cubes I can keep in supply. Oh my goodness, what have we done?!

LOL, Julie! Aack on the ice cubes. :) I think they’re bad on the teeth. But if he likes cold things you could make him frozen treats that will keep him busy. I used to use a Kong, which is a hard rubber thing for dogs to chew on, and fill it with peanut butter then freeze it. It feels good on their gums when they’re teething, plus they have to work really hard to get the frozen goodies out. Good luck with your new puppy!

I love puppies, but I know Katie Cat will not go along with the idea of adopting a high energy critter like Kinsey. I’m not sure she’ll even tolerate a kitten. She rules the roost.
