Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers (RMFW) is dedicated to supporting, encouraging, and educating writers seeking publication in fiction. The organization is further committed to acknowledging and supporting those authors who have achieved professional status as defined by RMFW. Our PAL and IPAL groups have played an important role in that process, and RMFW remains committed to celebrating our professional authors.
In recent years, the publishing industry has evolved regarding the myriad paths to publishing, and as a reflection of the industry, RMFW is changing as well. As such, RMFW is merging our PAL and IPAL groups into one new honorary group, the Professional Authors Alliance (PAA).
Our PAL and IPAL liaisons, Diane Jewkes and Andre Gonzalez, are working to define the criteria to be acknowledged as a PAA member. They are also engaged with the Board of Directors to determine next steps for awarding our future Writers of the Year. Currently recognized PAL and IPAL members will be automatically grandfathered into PAA.
The Professional Authors Association offers a dynamic, and supportive environment for published authors. Benefits include:
- Active community forum on Facebook
- Regular face-to-face activities such as Coffee Klatches
- Opportunity for networking and collaborating with other professional authors
- Opportunities for joining RMFW tables at events such as the Denver Pop Culture Con
- Possible inclusion in our “It’s a Book” mailer, sent to booksellers and librarians.
