My name is Sue Duff Loeffler and I am the Director of the Colorado Gold Writers Conference, Youth Scholarship Program and the Silent Auction Coordinator for Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers.
RMFW hosts the Colorado Gold Writers Conference each September/October and sponsors the annual Colorado Gold Writers Contest for published and unpublished authors. We also sponsor annual education events, a writer’s retreat, critique groups, publish an e-newsletter, host free monthly events on the craft and business of writing that are open to the public, and periodically publish an anthology of short fiction showcasing the talents of the Rocky Mountain writing community. We have an active social media community that reaches thousands of authors, writers, and readers annually.
Each year, our organization offers scholarships to writers, authors and students to attend our annual writers conference. In order to make this event a true triumph, we want to ask for your help.
We are currently looking for tangible donations for our silent auction, which raises money exclusively for our Youth Scholarship fund. This means whatever is raised through the Silent Auction helps to send Youth Writers/students between the ages of 14-22 to conference where they have the opportunity to raise their confidence as writers, skills and to even pitch their manuscripts to industry recognized agents and publishers. Donated items could include gift certificates, services, outings, tickets to events, products, and more. To show how much we appreciate your support, we will showcase you or your company in our conference program.
Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers (RMFW) is a 42-year-old non-profit, volunteer-run corporation dedicated to supporting, encouraging, and educating writers seeking publication in commercial fiction. To that end, the organization strives to:
- Provide an environment of support and encouragement among members and the Rocky Mountain writing community.
- Stimulate interest in and appreciation for the art of writing in the community at large.
- Act as a dissemination point for information to members and the public concerning commercial fiction writing.
- Bring together authors, editors, agents, writing-related professionals, and readers for the benefit of all.
