Conference Scholarships

Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers offers a limited number of scholarships to help writers attend our conference who would otherwise be unable, using funds donated by our RMFW members. For the 2024 Colorado Gold Writers Conference, Sept. 27-29, 2024, we have FOUR such general/adult scholarships to award.

Scholarships will be awarded based on stated financial need and application essay. You do not need to be an RMFW member to apply, nor do you need to be able to attend all three days to apply. Scholarships will cover the regular conference fee, not including hotel room costs or add-ons. The application period is open May 1-Aug. 1, and winners will be notified by Aug. 15.

Note: Early Bird Registration is honored if you are not awarded the scholarship and still wish to attend.

You will need the following information to apply:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • A 1,000-word essay telling the committee why you wish to attend Colorado Gold, what you hope to gain from it as a writer/author, how you think attending Colorado Gold will help you achieve your writing goals in the coming year, and your financial need.

Note: Scholarship recipients will be asked to assist with volunteer duties as a way to get more deeply involved in the conference and gain even more benefits from the time spent there. These duties are light and flexible.
