Pamela Nowak has been a member of RMFW since 1994. During that time, she learned from others and honed her craft, moving from novice to award-winning author. With the personal growth, she made a commitment to give back to RMFW. Pam began volunteering as a contest judge and newsletter columnist and has been active in critique groups during her entire membership. In 2007, she joined the conference team as coordinator of the critique round-tables and graduated to conference chair in 2008. She served three terms as conference chair, two terms as conference co-chair, was Colorado Gold contest chair, and has regularly taken on multiple sub-chairmanships for conference during her “off” years and worked to co-create a conference internship module for the RMFW Classroom. She has served on the Board of Directors and as RMFW Board President, helping guide the creation of the I-WOTY award during her tenure. When not serving in official capacities, Pam continues to present at conference, participate in critique group, and do her best to extend welcome to those beginning their writing journeys.
Pam has a B.A. in history, was a teacher, preservationist, and project manager for the Fort Yuma National Historic Site, as well as an administrator of a homeless shelter prior to her writing career. Her four historical romance novels have won numerous national awards (including the HOLT Medallion and Award of Merit, a WILLA Finalist Award, and the Colorado Book Award). She was honored as the 2010 RMFW Writer of the Year. Her books have garnered critical acclaim for her ability to weave actual people, events, and places into her plotting. Now writing women’s historical fiction with a heavy basis in fact, she’s returned to her roots. NEVER LET GO will release in January 2021.

Janet Fogg joined RMFW in 1993 after placing third in the Colorado Gold contest. Rising early every day to write before heading off to her day job as CFO and Managing Principal of an architecture firm, Janet wrote four manuscripts before receiving a contract for her first traditionally published novel, Soliloquy, a HOLT Medallion Award of Merit winner.
After 29 years she resigned from the firm and now splits her working days between writing and serving on the Board of Directors of a different architectural firm. The writing never stopped.
For RMFW, her volunteer work is impressive. She has judged contest, volunteered at the registration desk, at agent sign-in, as a moderator and instructor, and on the committee reviewing potential workshops. She regularly contributed to RMFW’s blog, has chaired WOTY and IWOTY nomination committees, created guidelines for a potential, future RMFW Mentor Program, and has served on the Board of Directors as Published Author Liaison and more recently, as Vice-President. Last year, she assumed primary responsibility for RMFW’s “It’s a Book” promotional mailer.
No question about it, Janet Fogg is certainly a very worthy Honored Guiding Member.

Alice Kober has been a member of RMFW for over 20 years. She has volunteered for numerous jobs, including Conference Chair and RMFW President, and was given the Jasmine Award in 2005 to honor the long-term service of individuals to the organization. After writing for business for many years, she changed careers and became a librarian 15 years ago. She’s currently the Adult Fiction Collection Librarian for Arapahoe Libraries and buys both print and e-book fiction. She especially loves buying books by Colorado authors.
