Shannon Baker & The Kate Fox Mystery Series
Shannon Baker is coming off a year, as she puts it, when she let her attitude slip. Writing is a business, as Shannon also says, where there are plenty of opportunities to get your ego bashed.
Now Shannon is climbing back out. Shannon recently announced that she has sold an option to the film rights to her Kate Fox series and Shannon is turning the page into the new year.
We’ve got Shannon on the podcast to tell us about what led to the deal and also catch up on all her other projects, including a Facebook-based group called Authors Unwritten which also involves four other very familiar RMFW writers.
Shannon Baker is author of Stripped Bare, Dark Signal and Bitter Rain in the Kate Fox Series, which also includes the novella Close Enough, and the Nora Abbott series from Midnight Ink.
Shannon, who lives in Tucson, loves to escape into the great outdoors. Backpacking in the Rockies, traipsing to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, skiing mountains and plains, kayaking lakes, hiking, cycling, and diving whenever she gets the chance. Having the desert for a backyard is a daily thrill, bringing javelinas, rattlesnakes, zillions of birds, including hummingbirds, and spectacular sunsets every day.
But as she says on the podcast, the main goal is writing. “We have to find our own focus,” says Shannon. “And it’s a constant battle.”

Excellent and informative discussion. Thanks, Mark and Shannon!
Thank you, Soott ! Hats off to Shannon for sharing all …. it’s easy to make everything seem rosy; not so easy to be clear how tough the business can be.
