Rocky Mountain Writer #165

Posted on April 3, 2019 by Mark Stevens

Ian Shane & Postgraduate

Ian Shane’s second novel, Postgraduate, comes out April 5.

It’s a love letter to the music of the ‘80s and ‘90s, when the main character, Danny, worked at his college radio station. The resulting story is one of nostalgia, disappointment, rivalries, and romance.

We talk about the tools Ian uses to publish, the influence of his Indiana hometown on his stories, and the important part music plays in his life and career.

Ian Shane is the author of two novels, Radio Radio and Postgraduate. He is currently working on his third book…and let’s be honest…watching hockey.

Ian studied Radio Broadcasting at the University of Southern Indiana and Computer Science at Indiana University.

Ian writes lad lit similar to Nick Hornby, Jonathan Tropper, and Matthew Norman.

He currently lives in Denver with his two cats.
