Bernadette Marie – Independent Writer of the Year Finalist
For the third year in a row, Bernadette Marie is one of three finalists for the Independent Writer of the Year.
With some 35 books in print and many more in the pipeline, Bernadette Marie is the definition of prolific. She also runs a publishing company that has helped shepherd 100-plus titles into the daylight.
On the podcast, part of our ongoing series with Writer of the Year and Independent Writer of the year finalists, Bernadette Marie talks about how she has strengthened her approach to developing and writing characters with strong personalities. She also talks about how she fits writing around a busy of schedule that includes raising five sons.
Bernadette Marie is known for building families readers want to be part of. Her series The Keller Family has graced bestseller charts since its release in 2011.
Obsessed with the art of writing and the business of publishing, she established her own publishing house, 5 Prince Publishing, in 2011 to bring her own work to market as well as offer an opportunity for fresh voices in fiction to find a home as well. Bernadette Marie is also the owner of Illumination Author Events which offers industry education as well as smaller intimate author/reader events.
When not immersed in the writing/publishing world, Bernadette Marie and her husband are shuffling their five hockey playing boys around town to practices and games as well as running their family business of carwash locations.
She is a lover of a good stout craft beer and might be slightly addicted to chocolate.
