Want your books included in the Colorado Gold Bookstore and signing event?

Posted on June 11, 2018 by Conference Chair

It’s that time of year when RMFW authors are thinking about the gala book-signing at Colorado Gold and how to participate in the signing or place their books in the conference bookstore. There are a few changes this year so read on!

As usual, per RMFW policies, the signing event is open to all presenters, special guests, and RMFW PAL/IPAL authors who are attending the conference. Those RMFW PAL/IPAL authors who are not attending may request their books be included in the bookstore. Matthew Woolums will coordinate sign-up once again and will verify conference registration and membership. The sign up form will be available online at www.rmfw.org.

BookBar is serving as the conference bookseller this year. They will order up to five titles per author with a maximum quantity of ten per title. Books requested for order by BookBar must be available via their distributors and must be returnable. A form will be provided for the orders.

BookBar will also take books on consignment (five title/ten copies per title maximum). The consignment split will be 60/40. Those authors who need to ship books may do so; address and timing details will be provided. There will be a special form listing all books consigned and authors will be responsible for bringing the form with them when they drop off their books. No books will be consigned without the form.

If you are planning to participate in the signing event, there is a change from previous years. Due to the growing size of the event and associated demands of moving books back and forth, purchases will be made in the conference bookstore with books then brought to the signing room. Authors should plan to bring display (not-for-sale) copies, if desired, as well as any other display items. Tables and name plates will be provided and set up by RMFW volunteers and BookBar staff. The signing room will be open a few hours prior to the Friday evening event so authors can set up their space with display items.
