I’ve heard that a lot lately. These days, without the normal start of work day, end of work day, specific jobs that get done on specific days (like washing hair and changing clothes!) it can get very hard to keep track of what day of the week it is. Between that, and all the Zoom meetings where you’re sitting around in your PJs with the camera off, or maybe half-dressed if you have to have the camera on, life has been turned inside out and upside down.
I have all this extra time, and never seem to find time to write. It seems like there’s always something else that I can do and it saves me from having to think about edits, or plots, or submitting, or anything else that SHOULD be top of mind were it not for all the distractions under the COVID umbrella.
So many cancelled events, including most early season writing conferences, leave us all wondering where we’ll be come fall when Gold is scheduled. With all the new technology that is being fine-tuned during the pandemic, the world is very likely to be a totally different place in 6 months.
Where will you be next week? Next month? Six months from now? How about a few short stories about what could be the new normal? Maybe an alternative reality, or sci-fi (come on, horror is just too easy!). I see an anthology in there somewhere!
Whatever floats your boat, and whether it’s Someday, Yesterday, Otherday, or Whatever Day, let’s Write On!
Perfect!
It is truly a mind conundrum for me. This time. This trying time.
